Before moving to Los Angeles in 2012, John had been negotiating on the seller’s behalf since 1983 in the Boston suburbs. He grew up in Brockton, MA is known as the “City of Champions”. A blue-collar city with a great sports history and boxing champions Rocky Marciano and Marvelous Marvin Hagler.
This south of the Boston location has always been a very active market and it is there that the niche market of Probate Real Estate. Marketing these homes requires a working knowledge of probate law, in addition to preparing a home for sale that in some instances needs some minor updating and repairs with personal representatives who are not in the area, or in some cases have no access to repair funds or contractors. And then we have a very important issue… buyers and buyers agents oftentimes think the word “BARGAIN” and Probate are synonyms. It is John’s job as your agent to make sure that He knows the difference.
John sold real estate primarily with REMAX Landmark Realtors where he was a consistent top producing agent and an expert in the niche market of probate real estate. Developing relationships with probate attorneys and past clients in that market until a move to Los Angeles in 2012 and once again the REMAX brand was a comfortable move, and one less thing to get comfortable with as learning the probate market was his goal. He has always enjoyed and appreciated the responsibility given to him, which is to be your agent. John earned the CPRES Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist, he attends monthly meetings at the South Bay Bar Association as an associate member, and continuing education seminars with probate attorney Paul Horn, and MTI Probate Education.
This working knowledge of the probate process in California, 30 years of probate experience in Boston, and almost 40 years of negotiating on the seller’s behalf as their agent.
